In this screwball comedy, it is 1941 and Broadway producer Gordon Miller is staying at the White Way Hotel with his actors. He is waiting on a financial backer to mount his next play. Meanwhile, he has been running up a huge bill. How long will Gordon be able to stay in the room, conduct secret rehearsals, feed his starving actors and keep the hotel management happy?
